The Katy and Fulshear still strong. Subdivisions such as Cinco Ranch, Firethorne, Seven Lakes, and Westhiemer Lakes North, in the Katy Area, still continue strong growth. Also subdivisions in the Fulshear area like; Cross Creek Ranch, and Fulbrook are rapidly growing. As written in the Katy Times; The Katy area is still economically strong in the face of a nationwide recession, according to a review of 2009’s development activity presented at the Katy Area Economic Development Council (EDC) general assembly Tuesday.
Katy Area EDC president and CEO Lance LaCour presented his group’s projects and the highlights of economic activity in the Katy area. Workforce Solutions, a human resources provider, opened a new office in Katy Mills mall due to a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce, EDC and state legislators. The branch replaces the one closed in 2008.
“We worked together to try to pull that project forward, to make it happen,” LaCour said. “Basically, we sent the message that we really wanted this center, and that helped tremendously.”
