On Saturday 1/30/2010 Taylor High School's Boys Swim Team took the district title over Cinco Ranch High School, and Seven Meadows High School in the closest 3 team race in the district's history. The competition was held at Katy High School's Natatoium and was a real nail biter. Going into the last event Taylor High School was in second place with 118 pts. just behind Cinco Ranch with 121 pts. and with a slight lead over Seven Meadows with 116. When all was said and done, Taylor High School's Boys swim team had won the 400-meter relay and it propelled them into first place. Taylor High School end the day's competition with a total of 136 pts. with Cinco Ranch in second place with 133 pts. followed by Seven Meadows with 130 pts. Taylor High School's Boys Swim Team then proceeded to throw, Taylor High School's second-year head coach, Rick Baker into the pool. At the event, coach Baker was awarded the honor of Boy's Coach of the Year.
